Snowshoe Stargazing
Guided nighttime snowshoe tours to stargaze above the resort
Guided snowshoe stargazing tours depart from Everline Resort on clear winter nights, taking small groups on a 2-hour snowshoe hike to view the night sky from elevation above the valley. Olympic Valley's high altitude and minimal light pollution make for exceptional stargazing conditions.

How It Works
A naturalist guide leads a small group on snowshoes from the resort into the surrounding terrain, gaining elevation to reach a viewpoint above the valley light wash. The guide covers both trail navigation and astronomy - pointing out constellations, planets, and seasonal sky events with the naked eye and, often, telescopes or binoculars. Tours last approximately 2 hours. Snowshoes and poles are provided. Group sizes are typically small (8-12 participants). Book well in advance as spots fill quickly on peak weekends. Tours are cancelled or rescheduled due to cloud cover.
What To Bring vs. Rent
Snowshoes and poles are provided. Dress for cold nighttime conditions - temperatures above 6,200 feet at night in winter are well below freezing. Warm base layers, insulated pants, a heavy jacket, gloves, a warm hat, and insulated waterproof boots are necessary. A headlamp is useful. The guide will have emergency equipment, but dress as if you are spending the night outside.
