Water Activities at Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe water activities available from North Shore operators include kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, pontoon boat rentals, ski boat rentals, fishing charters, and guided paddleboard tours. Most rental operations are based in Tahoe City and Kings Beach.
Water temperatures range from the low 50s°F in early summer to the high 60s°F in August and September - the warmest the lake gets. Wetsuits are not required for swimming but make extended water time more comfortable outside of August. Water shoes help with rocky entry areas at some beaches.

TIPS
Tips for Lake Tahoe Day Trips
Arrive Early at Sand Harbor
Sand Harbor's parking lot fills by 10 AM on summer weekends. Arrive before 9 AM or expect to wait in a queue outside the park entrance.
Skip South Lake on a Day Trip
South Lake Tahoe is 60 minutes from the resort - too far for a casual day trip unless you have a specific destination. Kings Beach and Tahoe City are more rewarding for the time investment.
Weekdays Are Better
The North Shore beaches are significantly less crowded Monday through Thursday in summer. If your schedule allows flexibility, save the beach for a weekday.
Stay at Everline Resort
Lake Tahoe is 20 minutes away. Everything else is right outside your door.
