How It Works

Tours depart from the resort with a guide who leads a 1-2 hour walk on the resort property and nearby valley terrain. The guide covers the Sierra Nevada ecosystem - identifying plants, discussing wildlife habitat, pointing out geological features, and explaining the history of the valley. Walks are paced for casual hikers and families. No fitness requirements beyond the ability to walk for 1-2 hours on mostly flat or gently rolling terrain. Appropriate footwear (athletic shoes or hiking shoes) is recommended.

What To Bring vs. Rent

No equipment rental required. Bring: comfortable walking shoes, a light layer for elevation changes, sunscreen, and water. A small daypack for water and a snack is useful for longer walks. Binoculars are helpful for wildlife spotting if you have them.
