Everline Resort offers fly fishing through the resort activities program, including a stocked pond on property and guided trips to the Truckee River - one of the best wild trout fisheries in California. The Truckee River flows from Lake Tahoe through Truckee and holds wild rainbow and brown trout on regulated wild trout water accessible within 15-20 minutes of the resort.

Summer

A stocked pond on the Everline property, available to resort guests for casual catch-and-practice fishing. Equipment available from the resort activity desk. Best for beginners and families.

Truckee River

May - Oct

One of the best wild trout fisheries in California. The stretch below Lake Tahoe through Truckee holds wild rainbow and brown trout. Regulated wild trout water - guided trips recommended for first-timers.

Lake Tahoe

Year-round

Mackinaw (lake trout) fishing on the lake. Requires a boat - guided charter trips depart from Tahoe City and Kings Beach. Best in spring and fall. Not a fly fishing destination.

Guided Truckee River Trips

Matt Heron is the recommended fly fishing guide for Everline Resort guests. He operates guided trips on the Truckee River and other waters in the area, suitable for all skill levels from complete beginners to experienced fly fishers.

Guided trips include waders, boots, rods, reels, and flies. Half-day and full-day trips are available. The Truckee River is best fished early morning or late afternoon - plan your schedule to avoid midday.
