Restaurants and Dining

Where to eat at the resort, in the Village, in Truckee, and at Lake Tahoe

By Bill P

Dining options near Everline Resort range from the resort's five on-property restaurants to a collection of places in Truckee, the Village at Palisades Tahoe, and the Lake Tahoe North Shore. The resort dining is convenient but limited in variety - the 20-minute drive to Truckee opens up substantially better options for dinner.

Village at Palisades Tahoe

5 min

The Village is a short drive or walk from Everline and has a handful of casual restaurants and bars. Most convenient after skiing when you do not want to drive.

The Village has a small but solid lineup for an apres-ski meal without getting in the car. Fireside Pizza Co. does the best pizza in town along with pastas and salads, and Tremigo Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar is a good pick for groups wanting Mexican food and margaritas. The Auld Dubliner serves Irish pub fare (its wings have won Best Wings in Olympic Valley), and PlumpJack Café offers a more upscale Mediterranean-leaning option with valley views if you want a nicer dinner without leaving the Village. Coffeebar covers coffee and casual breakfast or light fare.

Truckee

20 min

Truckee has the best and most varied dining near the resort. Historic downtown on Donner Pass Road with restaurants that are significantly better than anything on resort for a sit-down dinner.

Truckee is worth the 20-minute drive for dinner. Trokay is the area's standout fine-dining spot, leaning modern American with avant-garde technique. For something more casual, Old Town Tap and Best Pies Pizzeria both do well-regarded pizza, Burger Me serves locally-sourced burgers that have drawn national attention (Guy Fieri included it on a Top Burgers list), and Squeeze In is the go-to breakfast spot known for its long list of omelettes. Moody's, inside the historic Truckee Hotel, pairs seasonal mountain cuisine with live jazz and Americana music, and Bar of America is a longtime favorite for wood-fired pizza and campfire-grill items in a classic saloon setting.

Tahoe City

20 min

Good dining with the added bonus of lake views. Best suited for a summer dinner when you can combine the meal with a walk along the lake. Similar drive time to Truckee.

Tahoe City is the pick when you want lake views with your meal, especially in summer. Christy Hill Lakeside Bistro is the area's top fine-dining choice, sitting just off the water with a California-Mediterranean menu. Riva Grill on the Lake is more casual, known for cocktails and a popular outdoor patio right on the lake, and Jake's on the Lake offers classic waterfront grill fare next to the marina. Sierra Surf Club, at the evo Hotel, is a relaxed option for breakfast through dinner with a patio and fire pit overlooking the water.

Kings Beach

25 min

Casual, beachside dining character. Best for a summer lunch after a beach day at the North Shore.

Kings Beach has a beachy, low-key dining scene where most spots offer some kind of lake view. Whitecaps Pizza pairs a bright modern dining room with lake views and solid pizza. Soule Domain is the area's fine-dining standout, tucked into a vintage log cabin near the water and running for almost 40 years. Jason's Beachside Grille is the spot for a half-pound, flame-broiled burger, and Las Panchitas covers casual Mexican food - tacos, fajitas, and margaritas - just steps from the beach.

Grocery and Self-Catering

The suite has a full kitchen with all basic cooking equipment. Stocking up at Safeway in Truckee on arrival and cooking some meals in the suite is a practical way to manage food costs on a longer stay.
